Failed Attempt at Prompt #36
Dean Koontz’s skeleton lay next to another skeleton on the carpet. They had worms wiggling in their eyeball sockets and cockroaches scurrying in and out between their toes.
“Can you crawl over here and get this worm out of my eye?” the skeleton asked Dean’s skeleton.
“No,” said Dean’s skeleton.
“Why not?” asked the other skeleton.
“I’d need my skin to crawl over there and do that. But my skin is still at the cleaners,” Dean’s skeleton said.
Meanwhile, a clown, dressed as a decomposing Mae West, walked up and down the street in front of the skin cleaning store holding up a neon sign that flashed over his head. It read:
We’re sorry. Dean Koontz’s skin will not be available for any type of crawling today. If you are looking for a story that will make his skin crawl you will have to look somewhere else.
